Lion Dance in Vancouver
Vancouver’s Chinatown Lion Dance Troupe Since 1939
The Hon Hsing Athletic Club of Vancouver is a volunteer lion and dragon dance troupe based at 29 East Pender Street in historic Chinatown. Founded in 1939 by the Wongs’ Benevolent Association of Canada, we still train in Choy Lee Fut (蔡李佛) and perform old-village style lion dance.
We present more than 80 performances a year for Lunar New Year storefronts, Choi Cheng, grand openings, weddings, corporate celebrations, and community festivals across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
